Read the submission guidelines fully—pretty please and thank you.
There are two open QUERY reading periods early 2014:
Jan 1-Mar 31: Linked novella trilogies. Dark speculative fiction/horror/urban fantasy. NO zombies.
Mar 1-May 30: Non-fiction book on writing in the internet age.
We’re starting with queries because the Creative Director, Jennifer Brozek, thinks she knows what she wants but is happy to be surprised by the unexpected (within the submission guidelines). Jennifer likes her horror subtle, creepy, and suspenseful. No splatterpunk. She likes her dark urban fantasy to make her believe it is happening around her when she walks out her front door and doesn’t realize it. No zombies. Seriously. No zombies.
Also, Apocalypse Ink Productions will be at Convolution in November. If you have any questions, feel free to ask Jennifer there.

Things are moving apace here at Apocalypse Ink Productions. We decided we needed to shift release dates for our books around. First, Children of Anu, the second book in the Karen Wilson Chronicles by Jennifer Brozek, will be released in May 2013. Second, Jay Lake’s Process of Writing will be released in August 2013.
This is mostly because the editing on Jay’s book is going slow. Our editor wants to make sure that the edits she needs to make to change ten years’ worth of blog posts into coherent chapters meets with Jay’s approval. Also, with Jay’s forthcoming medical procedures, AIP does not want to put undue stress on Jay or his schedule when it comes time for edit requests and additional writing. Jay and AIP discussed this and decided pushing the book out a couple of months was best for everyone.
Famished: The Commons, the second book in the Gentleman Ghouls series by Ivan Ewert, is still scheduled for an October 2013 release.

Short and sweet reviews for our Apocalypse Ink Production books on Amazon:
Industry Talk - five stars
"This book contains a number of essays about two specific fields: Role-Playing Game Freelance Writing and Editing Anthologies. It was though the author had been looking over my shoulder and decided to help me out by giving advice for all of my pending projects. If you are interested in either topic, I highly recommend this book." -Jason Andrew
Famished: The Farm - five stars
"I don't normally read the horror genre, but this book kept me riveted to the very end! Highly recommend to anyone who loves to be scared and horrified!!" -Kelly S. Madsen
Caller Unknown - five stars
"I was surprised at how well this was written. It was complete in and of itself while fitting into a series (or so it is advertised -- I plan to find out by reading the series). You can read more than enough about the plot or the setting. I just wanted to confirm it is carried off well without gratuitous sex or other miscellaneous material. Two thumbs up." -S. Marsh

Cat Rambo gave Jennifer Brozek's Caller Unknown a lovely blurb today. Remember, you can buy the book from AIP and get the hard copy book signed.
"Brozek gives us the world the way it should be - full of hidden pockets of magic, ancient evils, and supernatural creatures - along with a heroine fully capable of dealing with all of the above."
- Cat Rambo, author of Near + Far and A Seed Upon the Wind
